Updated CDR Privacy Safeguard Guidelines
The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) has published updates to the CDR Privacy Safeguard Guidelines to reflect amendments to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and the CDR Rules. The Privacy Safeguard Guidelines outline how the Information Commissioner will interpret and apply the privacy safeguards. The updated guidelines reflect changes to:
- when certain privacy safeguards apply
- consent, such as allowing for consent to be amended and the different categories of consent
- the transfer of CDR data between accredited persons
- new permitted uses and disclosures, such as general research using de-identified data
- the collection of CDR data by accredited outsourced service providers.
Release Plan
The following release plan provides an upcoming view of the changes to be released:
- v1.11.0 Changes arising from DP160 and DP187, targeting pre-July
- DP160 (consultation closed)
- Updates to unavailable account standard for non-individuals, partnerships, secondary users
- Secondary user instruction withdrawal standard
- DP187 (consultation closing 18 June)
- Disclosure consent standard
- Update to ADR consent standard
- Disclosure consent withdrawal standard
- DP160 (consultation closed)
- Beyond v1.11.0: Priority changes for release will include enhanced NPP service overlay support and maintenance iteration 7 changes. Targeting July subject to consultation.
Maintenance Iteration 7
The 7th Maintenance Iteration continues this week with the fortnightly catch-up. The last meet on the 10th of June 2021 outlined the planned scope and priority for the requested items.
